Approximately 8.9 million people own motorhomes and that number is expected to continue on an upward trend, as more and more people are choosing RVs for their vacation getaways.
RVs offer many advantages over other ways of traveling. For example, they offer flexibility and convenience. As you are traveling the open road, you don’t need to worry about sticking to anyone’s schedule but your own.
And now, thanks to new advancements, you can actually take an extended road trip without worrying about where the closest gas station is on your route.
That’s right! We’re talking about an electric motorhome that will allow you to travel the country eco-friendly style.
Read on to learn more about this awesome advancement to the recreational vehicle…
What is an Eco-Friendly Motorhome?
With more and more electric cars available on the market, it’s no surprise that many companies are trying to change the way we power larger vehicles in order to stay competitive. Even Tesla is coming out with an electric semi-truck!
Gone are the days of your grandpa’s gas-guzzling Winnebago. The RVs of today are designed with new environmentally friendly technology.
There’s no need anymore to stop every 150 miles to fill up on fossil fuel. Traveling with solar powered, electric engines and battery packs are the new way to drive across the country!
No Charging Stations Needed
When riding in an RV, the general idea is to travel long distances. So the thought of having to stop every 100 miles to charge up can be a deal breaker.
An electric camper would only get about 103 miles on a charge. That’s not practical for any cross-country road trip!
Which is why you can get a variety of battery packs for your trip. These packs allow you to travel an extra 155,000 miles before needing replacement.
That’s enough to get you across the country and back about 25 times. So basically the only time you’ll need to stop is if you’re craving a Slurpee.
Solar Panels
The newest model of the eco-friendly motorhome sports head-to-toe solar panels. These panels give the RV the power it needs to keep going.
The 334 square feet of solar panels can generate up to 3,000 watts of electricity to keep the battery charging while driving, which allows for better performance and more efficient power usage.
In addition to solar panels, the heating system has also been upgraded. It is made more efficient by using materials that absorb the heat when temperatures get above 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
Those same materials will then release the heat when the air cools, like at night.
Get Out There
Now’s the time to get out there and explore the world with your loved ones!
Taking an RV trip is the ultimate way to travel in comfort, thanks to modern-day conveniences and advancements, such as a motorhome for disabled users that allows everyone in your family to hit the open road.
See the great outdoors, plan your own schedule, and do it all from the comfort of a new eco-friendly RV.
